Future Students

New entry requirements for the Graduate Certificate

The university has authorised a change in the entry requirements for our Graduate Certificate. This program is now available to students who have a recognised tertiary qualification - Bachelor degree, Level 7 in Australian Qualifications Framework (AQF), or equivalent. The AQF specification for the volume of learning of a Bachelor degree is typically three to four years. (previously the degree had to be aligned or cognate to astronomy. It is now any Bachelor degree).

Applicants who do not meet the above entry requirements will be considered for entry to the Graduate Certificate of Science (Astronomy) if they have significant relevant astronomy or astronomy-related experience (minimum of three years). This information is collected through our enrollment system.

Upon successful completion, application can then be made to enter the Graduate Diploma of Science (Astronomy) or Master of Science (Astronomy).

Note: to Future Students

All new students must supply proof of identity when they first apply to enrol, along with copies of their academic transcripts of their prior degrees. Evidence of English language proficiency is also required.

Scanned (digital) certified copies of these documents in PDF format will be accepted via the online application website. Hardcopy versions sent via post will not be accepted. Please note that these documents are not returned if applications are unsuccessful.

(Start-up kits, including instructions on accessing the student website are emailed to enrolled students the week prior to each Semester/Study Period).
