Astrotour Interactives

A large collection of 3D interactive tools and real world astronomical datasets. These tools work best with a presenter to manipulate the interactive content and providing descriptive explanations to to audience about what they are seeing.

Astrotour Toolset

Earth, Moon & Sun
  • SOHO Sun: Real stereo image of the Sun showing active regions
  • Magnetic Field: The magnetic field of the Earth. Note how the magnetic poles are offset from the rotation axis
  • Eclipse: Eclipse is used to explain solar and lunar eclipses. This package can demonstrate the difference between Total, Annular and Partial eclipses, with many configurable options.
  • Orbits: Orbits of Earth & Moon around the Sun. It also shows the rotation axes of each object.
  • Phases: Phases of the Moon
