Modelling the spectral energy distributions of galaxies
In da Cunha, Charlot & Elbaz (2008) we present a physically-motivated model for the spectral energy distributions (SEDs) of galaxies which enables us to:
•interpret the observed mid-infrared and far-infrared emission of galaxies consistently with the emission at ultraviolet, optical and near-infrared wavelengths;
•statistically constrain physical parameters related to the star formation and dust content of large samples of galaxies from ultraviolet, optical and infrared observations.
These models are publicly available as a user-friendly package - MAGPHYS: Multi-wavelength Analysis of Galaxy Physical properties.
