Dr. Willem van Straten
My research interests include scientific computing and the development of new algorithms for data analysis, applied primarily in the field of high-precision pulsar timing and radio polarimetry. With Matthew Bailes, I am currently developing a new baseband data recording and processing system for the Parkes Radiotelescope in New South Wales. I am the primary author and maintainer of PSRCHIVE, a pulsar data archival and analysis software package. I actively contribute to the Parkes Pulsar Timing Array project at the Australia Telescope National Facility and the Arecibo Remote Command Center project at the University of Texas at Brownsville.
