Dr. David Barnes
My professional and research activities are broadly divided into three areas. As a visualisation researcher, I focus on developing new display techniques and paradigms for numerical data, especially observed and simulated astronomy data. As a technical astronomer, I develop new algorithms and tools for enhancing the scientific output from radio telescopes. Finally, as a research astronomer I have participated in extensive surveys of neutral Hydrogen in the nearby Universe, and I am now participating in the MWA LFD project which will study the Epoch of Reionisation, and developing an interest in pulsar astronomy.
